Pistachio Cake (Made from Scratch!)

Delight in the light, nutty, pistachio flavor of this soft and moist pistachio cake drizzled with orange-pistachio syrup and smooth chocolate cream cheese frosting on top.

Ingredients

Begin by preparing your main baking tools and ingredients. Preheat your oven to 350°F (or 175°C). Line the bottom of your baking pan with parchment paper. Ground your pistachios into fine crumbs using a food processor.

Mix the dry ingredients. Place your ground pistachio crumbs in a bowl, then add flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir to combine.

In a large bowl, whisk butter and sugar for 2 - 3 minutes or until creamy. Add 1 egg at a time and mix until fully incorporated.

Add more flavor by adding in your sour cream and vanilla. Then, alternately add dry ingredients and milk, beginning and ending with your dry ingredients. Stir.

Transfer to your baking pan and bake for 25 - 28 minutes. Let it cool completely

Drizzle orange pistachio syrup and add a few dollops of chocolate cream cheese frosting on top before serving. You may also add freshly roasted pistachios and berries for that added texture and tang.
