Equipment

Ingredients

Optional Toppings

  • lettuce leaves
  • sliced tomatoes
  • cheese
  • shallots

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 340°F (170°C).
  • If using tomatoes, slice them, finely chop the shallots, prepare lettuce leaves, and get the cheese ready. Make slight indentations in the bread slices, which can easily be done using a cup or similar object.
  • Once the air fryer is preheated, arrange the bread slices on the bottom of the basket. Carefully crack an egg into each of the indentations.
  • Allow them to air fry for approximately 10 minutes. If you prefer your yolk to be runny, reduce the time to 7-8 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes, add shallots and cheese on top of the bread. Continue air frying for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Once the toast is cooked, transfer it to a plate. Take one slice and layer it with the sliced tomatoes and crisp lettuce leaves. Cover with the other slice, cheese side down.
  • Serve the toast while it's still hot. You can also add your favorite herbs or sauces. Fresh basil and sriracha sauce make great additions.
