Try These Juicy Turkey Burgers
I love how easy these are to put together, without me having to rush to exclusive stores just to get weird ingredients.
With you air frying them, they come out crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside, no need to grill them!
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Quick and easy: This is one of my go-to dinners when I need to make something really fast but still yummy.
- Perfect Texture: These easy air fryer turkey burgers come out crisp around the edges and incredibly juicy in the center.
- Healthier option: Ground turkey is a lighter option than your usual beef burgers.
- Family favorite: Even people who usually prefer beef burgers love these, and with the option of adding additional toppings like mushrooms, cheddar cheese, bacon, etc, everyone can customize their own.
Ingredients

- Fresh Ground turkey: I like using lean ground turkey for these hamburgers, but not the extra-lean kind, which can dry out more easily.
- Onion: This ingredient gives moisture and a bit of a sweet taste.
- Worcestershire sauce: One of my favorites, as it gives the patties a deeper, savory taste.
- Sriracha: Adds a little bit of spiciness without making the burgers too spicy.
- Dried garlic and marjoram: Simple seasonings that just add some extra flavor.
How to Make Air Fryer Turkey Burgers
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped ground turkey, finely chopped onion, dried garlic, dried marjoram, Worcestershire sauce, and Sriracha chili sauce.
2. Add black pepper and salt to taste. Thoroughly mix the meat mixture for about five minutes, and then let it rest for at least 20 minutes. This will ensure that the herb mixture blends well with the meat, giving it that delicious taste.

3. Shape the patties. If available, use a burger press or patty shaper. Otherwise, shape the patties by hand. Place them on parchment paper.
Note: Keep in mind that the patties will shrink slightly during cooking, so make them slightly larger than the width of the burger buns.

4. Preheat the air fryer to 360°F/180°C. Once the air fryer is heated, place the patties on the bottom of the air fryer basket.
5. Air fry for 15 minutes, flipping the patties halfway through. Five minutes before the cooking time ends, you can place the bottom part of the burger buns on the bottom of the basket to lightly toast them.

6. Two minutes before the cooking time ends, you can place sliced cheese on top of the patties to allow it to melt.
7. After 15 minutes of air frying in total, your delicious and flavorful turkey burger patties are ready. Transfer them to a separate plate.

8. Now you can assemble the burger. My personal favorite is placing lettuce leaves on the bottom part of the bun, followed by a patty with melted cheese.
9. Add tomato and red onion. Spread mayonnaise and mustard on the top part of the bun. Serve warm and enjoy!

Recipe Tips
- Go for lean ground turkey. It is a healthier option without tasting like it.
- When combining the ingredients, mix until just combined. If you overmix, the mixture can lead to tough burgers.
- Just like an oven, preheating your air fryer is an important step for even cooking and a perfect sear on your burger.
- Use a meat thermometer to check if your turkey burgers have reached a safe internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
- Let your burger rest for a few minutes after cooking. This lets the juices redistribute, giving you a moist and delicious burger.
What Can You Serve With This?
- Sweet potato fries
- Potato wedges
- Coleslaw
- Salad

I love serving these burgers with a heap of sweet potato fries or my special homemade potato wedges. Add a fresh salad or some crunchy coleslaw, and you've got a plate of pure happiness.Recipe Variations and Substitutions
- Add feta and spinach for a bit of a Mediterranean twist. Load up your burger with slices of creamy avocado, a crisp lettuce leaf, juicy tomato, or even a few tangy pickles.
- Even though the recipe calls for ground turkey, feel free to shake things up. Try ground chicken for a different taste, or use plant-based ground meat for a vegan-friendly option.
- Spice up your turkey burgers with different herbs and seasonings. Try an Italian twist with basil, oregano, and sun-dried tomatoes, or add a Southwest punch with cumin, paprika, and chipotle peppers.
- From good old ketchup and mustard to smooth mayo or a spicy aioli, don't be shy with the condiments. Try swapping Sriracha for BBQ sauce.
Proper Storage Tips
- If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
- To freeze the turkey burgers, individually wrap them in plastic wrap or place them in freezer-safe bags for up to 3 months. When you're ready to enjoy them again, let them thaw overnight before reheating.
Pro Tips
- I try not to overmix the turkey mixture. The less you handle it, the more tender the burgers stay.
- A meat thermometer is the easiest way to make sure they’re cooked perfectly. Turkey burgers are done when they reach 165°F (74°C).
- Toast the buns for extra flavor.
- Let the burgers rest for a couple of minutes before serving so the juices redistribute.
