Being the air fryer expert in my friend group, I know what it takes and how important it is to have a reliable kitchen partner at home. So, when one of my friends asked me if I'd heard about GoWISE before, I said yes.
I've heard it before, but I have yet to try a unit from this brand. That is, until a few weeks ago, I got my hands on one of their most sought-after models.
I figured that aside from testing it out, maybe I should also let my friends and readers know what I experienced from this model. So, here's my GoWISE Air Fryer review.

Overview of the GoWISE 5.8 QT 8-in-1 Digital Air Fryer
I have to be honest. The exterior of the GoWISE USA Air Fryer doesn't appeal to me. It's made out of glossy black plastic with a shape that seems to be a cross between a pod and a square.
A rather huge display screen is at the center of the unit, right above the basket drawer. At the top of the unit is a chrome plate that covers the vent and displays the brand GoWISE USA.
It's 11.5 inches tall and 13.5 inches wide with a depth of 12.5 inches. It has an overall capacity of 5.8 quarts with a total weight of four ounces.

In-Depth Review
Performance and Food Taste
Like most air fryers I've reviewed around the 5- to 8-quart capacity range, the GoWISE Air Fryer performed impressively, thanks to its high-powered heating element.
The 1700-watt engine quickly heats the entire cooking chamber. Combining that with GoWISE's Rapid Air Technology, I was able to enjoy a basket of French fries in just a few minutes.
Air frying other foods gave me the impression that this unit can evenly cook some of the best recipes I have without altering the final product's flavor.
Even this air fryer honey mustard salmon recipe tasted great on this unit!
Design and Features
Overall appearance and construction
The digital interface that displays the time and temperature is also where you'll see all the preset options. You can choose from eight cooking methods in total.
However, I'm not a fan of the indicators. The presets are small icons of foods: fries, pork, chicken, steak, pizza, fish, cake, and shrimp.
While that's cute, it becomes rather confusing for other people which preset is which, especially if you have children or the elderly using the device.
I like that aside from the Start/Stop button, it also has a dedicated Pause button. This allows you to pause the cooking process to readjust the timer or temperature.
It's within the same temperature range as many other air fryers, 180°F to 400°F. However, unlike other models, its maximum timer is only 30 minutes.
Size and layout
This is what impressed me the most about this air fryer. Despite having a 5.8-quart capacity, it's a few inches smaller than other air fryers with the same capacity.
This made it easy for me to find the perfect spot in my kitchen to place it on.
Even though it's smaller, the basket is spacious enough for three to four people. Believe me. I prepared more than enough Brussels sprouts and homemade fries for my family with this.
I also tried other fried foods, and I was able to fit about five average-sized pork chops per batch and up to nine chicken wings in another.
The bottom line is that it's small enough to save a few inches of counter space in your kitchen but big enough to feed a small family. After all, the size and capacity are the first things you must consider when choosing an air fryer.
Ease of use
I like air fryers that don't just cook my food evenly but also make it easier for me to prepare a meal. The GoWISE Air Fryer helps me do that by reminding me when to flip or shake the food inside the basket.
It's not automated. You still have to set it up by pressing the alarm button on the bottom right of the panel. Pressing it once sets the reminder to five minutes, twice for 10 minutes, and thrice for 15 minutes.
Still, that's way better than having to check and monitor my air fryer now and then to see where I'm at with the cooking time.
This alarm feature lets me attend to other tasks while letting the air fryer do the cooking for me.
Additional features
The GoWISE Air Fryer also comes with a recipe book containing around 50+ meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even dessert.
Don't worry. If you don't like any of those recipes, you may also download GoWISE's free smartphone application to access hundreds of other meals you can prepare with your air fryer.
I also like that the air fryer basket includes a button guard that prevents accidental detachment of the drawer from the unit.
Price and Value
Here comes the million-dollar question: Is it worth it? If we're talking about the air fryer as it is, I'd say the price is justified.
However, in today's time, when air fryers are equipped with the most advanced technologies, I believe you can get a unit with more features for the same price, if not cheaper.
Nonetheless, the GoWISE Air Fryer is still an excellent model to have in your kitchen for all it offers.

How to Clean
The best air fryer shouldn't just make food preparation easy. It should also be a breeze to keep it clean. Thankfully, the GoWISE USA Air Fryer kept that in mind.
The air fryer basket and other accessories include a nonstick coating to prevent food from sticking to the surface.
However, it's not dishwasher-safe, so you must clean it with a dishwashing liquid and a soft sponge. Ensure you also know how to loosen and remove baked-on grease if you forgot to clean it the day before.
